Lily Stevens Joins The Next Gen Family

Over the past few days, we've welcomed several new faces to the Next Gen Family. Our first announcement is the arrival of Crystal Palace defensive midfielder, Lily Stevens.

Lily Stevens, 21, has been with Crystal Palace in The Women's Championship now for 2 years after coming through the ranks at Reading FC between the ages of 9-18 years old. Lily has also represented Wales at international level in the u15's to u19's squads.

We got to know Lily in a bit more detail by asking her some quick fire questions:

Q)  How would you describe yourself as a player?

I'd say as a player I love to get on the ball and make things happen in a holding midfield role. I'm also not too bad at free kicks.

Q)  Tell us more about your life away from football?

So I'm currently at UCFB in London studying Sports Business & Sports Broadcasting. When I don't have football or uni then I'm usually just with my friends or family. Away from football, I'm usually just watching football. But I do love a good series on Netflix.

Q)  Who are your closest friends in football?

Got to be Evie Gane, Charlie Estcourt and Lily Woodham.

Q)  What are the 2 things you can't live without?

100% couldn't live without my phone and always having my nails done.

Q)  Dream holiday destination?

Definitely the Maldives.

Q)  Coffee shop order?

Usually a Caramel or Hazelnut Latte.

Q)  If you could invite 3 people around for dinner, who would they be and why?

Three people I'd love to have round for dinner would be Frank Lampard, John Terry and Didier Drogba - I'd just love to talk about football.

Q)  Any pre match rituals or superstitions?

I've got no superstitions or rituals. I always have my headphones in listening to music before a game though if that counts?

Q) What 3 songs are you listening to at the minute?

Two albums I'm currently listening to are Chixtape 5 & Hoodie SZN. And I love Beyonce!!

Q)  Dream job away from sport?

My dream job would definitely be working on Sky Sports News.

Q)  What attracted you to Next Gen Sport Solutions?

I felt it was the right time in my career to work with a sports management company and I know a few of the girls that are currently with NGS so I'd already heard good things. After speaking with the team and them explaining more about what they do and what they stand for, I knew it would be a good fit for me.
